Umstead makes way for Walk of Hope Sunday
The Crabtree entrance to Umstead State Park on U.S. 70 in Raleigh will be closed Sunday, October 11, until 2 p.m. during the 21st annual Thad & Alice Eure Walk for Hope, the Division of Parks and Recreation has announced. The Reedy Creek entrance off North Harrison Avenue in Cary will be open at 8 a.m.
Those camping at Umstead will need to either leave the campground between 8 and 9 a.m. or remain in the campground until the gates re-open at 2 p.m.
Horses will not be allowed in the park until 2 p.m.
