Parkway construction will slow traffic
Work to replace guardrails along the Blue Ridge Parkway will result in one-lane traffic and delays of up to 15 minutes from near Asheville north beginning December 7, the National Park Service says.
Most of the work will be done weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with only occasional work expected on weekends.
The work zone is from "Milepost 356 at Asheville, NC Route 358," according to the NPS release, to Milepost 0 at U.S. 250 and Interstate 64 at Rockfish Gap in Virginia. (Milepost 356 would be in the Mount Mitchell area north of Asheville, near N.C. 128.)
