Mountain Aid benefit this weekend
Mountain Aid 2009, a music festival benefiting people affected by mountaintop removal in West Virginia, is going on today and tomorrow at Shakori Hills in Silk Hope. Kathy Mattea is hosting and performing, and will be joined by Donna the Buffalo, Ben Sollee, Those Darlins, Slim Redmond Band, Andrew McKnight & Beyond Borders, Here’s to the Long Haul, Erin Regan, The Gravy Boys, Ian Thomas, Si Kahn and Aurora Lights.
Gates open at noon Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $30, with free admission for those younger than 13. RV camping is $40, tent camping is $10.
